ABDPBT Tech Services
When I started ABDPBT Tech, it was because I wanted to try to bridge the gap between full-fledged tech sites and the audience of people who wanted to start their own blogs on their own web space, and use their own brains to customize their designs, but who weren’t quite there yet, technically speaking. I think that the posts on ABDPBT Tech serve this purpose, but as I continue to write about tech topics here, I realize there is still a huge stumbling block for people using WordPress on their blogs. I get several requests a week for tech help, and though it’s not really my intention to become a professional web designer, I thought that perhaps the time had come to start offering services to people here who need a little bit of help in getting where they want to go.
So, with no further adieu, welcome to ABDPBT Tech Services, a bold experiment in blog monetization, my friends.
Please note that I am not a formally trained web designer. I am self-taught in html, WordPress, CSS, PhotoShop and some php. However, the blog you are now reading is my own design, built from the ground up with WordPress and the Thesis Theme for WordPress, with the exception of the photo gallery on the front page, which was built with javascript. (By the way, if you want a gallery like that, I cannot help you personally, but I can point you in the right direction for someone who can). I have listed below what I can do, should you decide you need help with your tech stuff. Import old blog entries into new WordPress blog — $49
I will export your entries from your old blog and import them into your new WordPress blog. Please note that the transition to another blogging platform pretty much guarantees that everything will not look exactly the same as it did before. Therefore, you might have to mess around with your entries (and its associated images) a bit to get the formatting exactly how you want it after the import. But, I will save you a lot of time by doing uploading them for you.

Setup WordPress blog (with purchase of hosting account with LiquidWeb, using my affiliate link) — $19
I will log in to your HostGator account and install WordPress, install your theme and setup some plug-ins that should be standard on all WordPress blogs. The plug-ins include Akismet (for blocking spam comments), All in One SEO Pack (for optimizing your blog for search engines), Google XML Sitemaps (to make it easier for Google to index your site) and Broken Link Checker (to notify you if links on your blog are no longer working).

I will look at your blog with my overly critical eye and then advise you on what has to go, what has to go NOW, and what I think you can do to make things prettier and more fun for the user, and other good stuff.

Masthead and Other Graphic Design
If you have some ideas about what kind of masthead or other graphics you’d like on your blog, I can brainstorm with you to come up with a design. I cannot really make this into a strict price point because there’s too much room for variety in the amount of work that needs to be done. Therefore, prices on this will vary according to how complex the design is, or how much of it you want me to fashion out of whole cloth.
