Perhaps if you had asked some of those questions, you could have raised awareness and saved us all from some of the resultant waste. I’m thinking specifically 5 and 15, but as you note, 16 is related.
    New list up.

  2. Jan 11, 2010

    I’m up!

  3. Jan 11, 2010

We had a chocolate fountain at our wedding six years ago. Then we thought we were chic. Now we look back at our pictures and think, Everyone does that now. Bastards.

    List up.

  4. Jan 11, 2010

How did you remember these questions for six years? Do you keep detailed notes? My list is up!

  5. Jan 11, 2010

Tim, only if people had listened to me. So far, I have a kind of shoddy record with that.

  6. Jan 11, 2010

    Cool! I linked you up.

  7. Jan 11, 2010

We had a chocolate fountain in 2006, so kind of on the edge of when everyone started doing it. It was still pretty awesome, though.

  8. Jan 11, 2010

My brain is like a steel trap. Actually, not really. I don’t know how I remembered.

What intrigues me is that the mask thing is still prevalent among LA Asians. My question is: are they saving us from them because they’re sick, or they think they’re saving themselves from us?

  10. Jan 11, 2010

They are totally saving themselves from you/us. My mom wears a mask due to a heart transplant to protect herself and people avoid her like she has the plague, which is ironic.

  11. Jan 11, 2010

Obviously, #4 still needs to be answered.

    My list is up.

  12. Jan 11, 2010

Yeah, I think that somebody told me that in Japan, in particular, people do this when they are sick to stop the spread of flus, etc. If this is true, this is a remarkably considerate culture. If we could just get people to stop coming into work/school when they are sick, we’d make huge strides.

  13. Jan 11, 2010

True, though there are less than there were six years ago. I remember going into stores and finding clothes all the time back then that would have been cute if they didn’t have a stupid flower attached.

  14. Jan 11, 2010

I wasn’t going to, but then I did. Write a list, I mean.

And I’m still mad at Thom Yorke for telling everyone to vote Green in 2000. I blame him for the whole debacle, actually.

  15. Jan 11, 2010

I still blame Nader. And graduate students.

  16. Jan 12, 2010

Me six years ago to a friend with an “online journal”: “You have a blob?”

    Smoooooth.
