Stupid Advertising & Promotion: Morongo Casino

[singlepic=18,560,560,,center]
Personally, I’ve never been much of a gambler. Which admittedly, is strange, since nearly every other vice known to man is something I’ve used and abused. But with gambling, eh. I never have really had much use for casinos except back in the day that I was drinking, because I’d go and sit at the blackjack table and manage to drink free drinks for less than the price they cost in alcohol all night through conservative betting and selective hand-sitting-outing. These days, I can do without all the bells and annoying casino sounds, the smokey rooms, the endless club sandwiches.

So when I see something like this, the ad for the (wait for it) Morongo Casino, I think–well, now, that’s a bit of refreshing truth in advertising. Moron, GO to the casino! Exactly. But you would at least think that they’d try to be sneakier about it. We know they want to target morons, but I mean is ordering them around like that the best way to go? I don’t know. You tell me.

    Have you seen Dr. Phil??

    Morons absolutely LOVE to be ordered around. They sign up for it. It’s whack.

    Good point.

    I think that’s why Suze Orman (and Dr. Laura and Bill O’Reilly and John Rosemond) are so popular, too. Morons find it refreshing when “experts” “tell it like it is.”

    It’s hard to find educated people in this particular subject, however, you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
