I agree about the blogs that are preachy about raising kids and/or hypercritical of other bloggers and their methods of raising children. I have been somewhat shocked by the level of disdain there is out there for some of the more successful bloggers--I'm all for snark and making fun, but this extends beyond that playful kind of thing. It's kind of sad. Women are always tearing each other down. Kate is more than annoying. I can only tolerate about 13 minutes of Jon & Kate plus 8 per week, then I holler "please turn it off!" (That could also be because I find Kate a bit annoying). I only read mommy blogs that are not just about kids (especially the ones that are sanctimonious about the ONE right way to raise them). So keep on keeping it real. I often muse that my 12-month-old daughter's perfect, poreless skin would make a great pair of ultra smooth leather gloves--very very tiny ultra smooth gloves. And I have not yet fed edamame to her, but she sure does like beans--any kind of bean--green beans, black beans, white beans, garbanzo beans. I agree, however, with our distinguished host in that too much blogging about baby is boring. Should we give it a nickname? BABIB? But a little is always nice. Because our children do make us better people. I now roll down my window and toss a few bucks to those guys holding signs on highway exits. Because they were someone's baby once, too. I think I have found My People on this blog. I swear that motherhood is a necessary rite of passage. Completing, wearing, scarey, and taking all the courage you can muster. But in the end you will not ever regret doing it right. I might add that if you ever get arrested and have to stand in the line up they will be able to pick you, the mother perpetrator, out from all the others.
